Crawl, Cora, Crawl!

Cora has been teasing us with crawling for quite some time. She's been rocking back and forth on her hands and knees for about a month now, but just when you think she's about to take off crawling she drops back down to her belly. She's great at rolling to get where she needs to go and scooting backwards. Two days ago, she finally started moving forward. Unfortunately, she was only using her upper body strength. She was letting her legs drag behind her! Yesterday, she finally started using her arms and legs. She's shown even more improvement today. Though she hasn't started lifting her belly off the floor when she actually starts moving, I'll definitely consider it a success with crawling!

"Here I go!"

In position...

Gotta make a few silly faces first...

"Nah, I'll just roll!"

Beautiful January Weekend

This weekend the weather was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed the sunny 70 degree days with the house open, playing outside, picnic in the backyard and cookout with our neighbors. I must admit that yesterday in our backyard during our picnic lunch, we stripped Cora down to just her diaper and socks and took off Adeline's shirt so the girls could get a little Vitamin D! Cora thoroughly enjoyed herself! :) Too bad we didn't get any pictures though. Here are a couple of pictures of Adeline outside after church on Sunday. I thought her outfit looked too cute to not get any pictures!

Such a silly girl!

Having days like this in the middle of winter certainly gets me in the mood for spring!

Our Little Photographer

Adeline is very fond of taking pictures with our camera so I'm going to share some of her work!

She took about five pictures of her pom-pom so I picked the "best!" :)

This is her doll, Cabinedge! She told me that was her doll's name a few months ago and it has stuck.

She wanted to take a picture of Handy Manny.

Sledding on Ice

It's been quite the winter so far this year! This was our third round of winter weather. It showed up this time in the form of ice that kept us home for several days. The roads were solid sheets of ice. Adeline enjoyed the homemade sled that Jared came up with. We took her out several times to sled and ran around the backyard for a little while one day. Ice with a little bit of snow is not as much fun to "play" in as all snow, but we still had a great time! Adeline kept wanting us to make snowballs for her to throw, but it was hard to make anything other than "ice" balls. Cora went out with us one time for about two minutes, but the rest of the time we just waited until she was taking a nap. There wasn't much she could enjoy about it so we figured we might as well let her stay warm! Besides, she isn't much for big, heavy clothes!

Adeline fell face first off the sled one time into the ice. I should mention that this was in the grassy yard rather than the solid ice on the road! She got a small cut on her nose so Jared put Neosporin and a band aid on it to help it heal quicker.

Too Cute Not to Share

I took these pictures of the girls while we were playing and thought they both looked adorable!

Adeline was posing for me!

Cora is pretty good at standing when we lean her against something. She loves to stand!

Cora's Little Photo Shoot

We love this outfit on Cora and she was in such a good mood so we snapped some shots of her precious self! She's becoming such a little ham!

Chick-fil-a Bowl

On New Year's Eve, Jared and I went to see the Gamecocks play in the Chick-fil-a Bowl! Well, anyone that watched the game knows it wasn't pretty at all for the Gamecocks, but we still had a good time. MoMo and PoPo watched the girls for us that evening. We ate at Ted's in Atlanta before going to the Dome. We were hoping to have our brother-in-law, Nick, as our server, but the restaurant was packed so we sat wherever they could get us. The food was great and we did get to chat with Nick briefly! We made our way over to the Dome after dinner. My parents and Todd and Valori also went to the game. Our seats were with my parents and Todd and Valori (who had the best night of all of us since her Noles won!) were sitting across the field. After the game, we brought in the New Year sitting in traffic on our way home!
